Tarpins is up in distance to 1400 metres and running in blinkers for the first time. A little trick Cliff Brown picked up from Bart Cummings. We’ve also traded in the jockey – a bit harsh on D Moor – and he’ll now be ridden by N Stanley

Odds are $15 in the Sportsman today. Favourite is a horse called Blind, perhaps an omen for Cup week.
